Storing Your Chromebook
Your Chromebook is more fragile than it looks. When not in use, store your Chromebook in a backpack. Avoid broken screens by setting your backpack down carefully. Be certain water bottles don't leak on your device.
Charge your Chromebook every night! Do you charge your phone? The answer to that question is probably yes! Make sure you charge your Chromebook, too. It's hard to be successful at school if your device won't turn on.
Etiquette
Technology Usage Agreement
When you registered for school, you signed a district tecnology usage agreement. Know what it says about proper etiquette!
a) Be polite. Do not get abusive in your messages to others.
b) Use appropriate language.
c) Do not reveal your personal address or phone number or the names, addresses or phone numbers of other individuals.
d) Understand that use of the district’s technology resources is not private and that the school district may monitor electronic communications conducted on district technology resources.
Your Chromebook and Food
Eating a snack while doing your work? Be careful with crumbs landing on your keyboard! Crumbs can get under the keys and really mess up your ability to type effectively.
Need to Borrow a Chromebook?
So you forgot to charge your Chromebook or you left it at a home? Life happens. We get it. In these rare cases, you can visit the library to borrow a loaner device. We do not give out chargers. Loaner Chromebooks are due the same day. Exceptions are made if your Chromebook is out for repair.
Troubleshooting Issues
One common problem we see with the Chromebooks is sometimes they won't turn on even if they are charged. A tip to try is to hold down the escape, refresh, and power keys at the same time. This will reset it. Then press the power key again. If this doesn't work, bring your Chromebook to the library.
